About the Brewery
Kuribayashi Shuzoten was founded in 1874 in Rokugo, Akita, and is best known for its flagship brand “Harukasumi.” Rooted in a region blessed with high-quality rice from the Senboku Plain and abundant underground water, the brewery has long supported the local sake tradition. From the late Showa period onward, it placed increasing emphasis on junmai sake and steadily improved quality, earning repeated recognition at the National New Sake Competition. Today, Naoaki Kuribayashi leads brewing efforts, centering production on Misatonishiki, Akita’s distinctive local sake rice, while pursuing refined and harmonious sake that expresses the character of the region.
