Kusunoki Winery

Kusunoki Winery started growing wine grapes in Suzaka City, Nagano Prefecture in 2004. The founder, Shigeyuki Kusunoki, did not come from a farming background, but started by renting a field. In 2006, we released our first vintage of Chardonnay and Merlot and founded the company in 2010. The following year, we completed construction of our own winery, and our 2011 Merlot won the prefecture's Jury Encouragement Award. In 2014, the sparkling wine building was completed, and in 2016, the company's wine was selected at the G7 Karuizawa Transport Ministers' Conference. Today, we continue to make wine that is rooted in the region.
