About the Brewery
Fukurokuju Sake Brewery is a historic sake brewery based in Gojome-cho, Akita Prefecture, founded in the first year of Genroku (1688) during the Edo period. We are particular about local rice, water, and people, and continue to brew sake that takes advantage of the local climate. The philosophy of sake brewing is "enjoyable sake." We value not only the enjoyment of sake by the drinkers, but also the attitude of the brewers to truly enjoy sake brewing.
The brand Ippaku Suisei, which is attracting particular attention, is characterized by its light and smooth taste, and has gained many fans nationwide. In addition, the upper and lower sake breweries have high cultural value, having been designated as nationally registered tangible cultural properties.
Fukurokuju Sake Brewery is widely known as Akita's representative sake brewery for its high quality sake, which maintains tradition while keeping up with the changing times.
