About the Brewery

The history of sake brewing in Japan is so old that it even appears in the legend of Susano-onomikoto, recorded in the Nihon Shoki, and its foundation was formed during the Edo period. Especially in Settsu Province, Itami, Nishinomiya, and Nada regions, Nada's ``Nama Ippon'' was popular among Edo people. Sakura Masamune's founding family, the Yamamura family, is also famous for its history of sake brewing, and began brewing sake in Itami in 1625. Furthermore, during the era of the sixth Tazaemon clan, Nishinomiya's ``Miyamizu'' became indispensable for producing high-quality sake, and Sakura Masamune's reputation spread throughout the country. Even after the Meiji period, they continued to strive to improve quality and greatly contributed to the development of sake, such as by developing the "Kyokai No. 1 Yeast."
