About the Brewery
Uchigasaki Sake Brewery was established in 1618 when the first Uchigasaki Chikugo clan (later renamed Oribe) was summoned by Date Masamune and ordered to establish a post station in Tomiya in conjunction with the construction of a new road on the Oshu Highway. is said to have started. The sake brewing industry was founded in the first year of Kanbun (1661) by the second generation Sakuemon, and boasts one of the best histories and traditions in the prefecture for over 350 years. The brewery, which was rebuilt during the Keio era, is characterized by its thick white walls, and is highly praised for its ``taste of the land'' due to the handmade cold brewing made by the Nanbu chief brewer, who takes advantage of the bitter cold of winter.
