About the Brewery
Tsuno Wine, located on the plateau of Tsuno in Miyazaki Prefecture, was born in the rich natural setting between the Osuzu Mountains and the Hyuga Sea. Despite annual rainfall of over 4,000 mm and frequent typhoons, the winery has pursued its belief that “good grapes make good wine,” producing bottles exclusively from locally grown grapes in collaboration with regional farmers.
Its estate vineyards cultivate a wide range of varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Muscat Bailey A. Adapting to the humid climate, the winery employs an innovative flat-trellis system to achieve both quality and stable yields. In the cellar, state-of-the-art equipment is combined with artisanal techniques, carefully adjusting each process to maximize the character of every vintage. The lineup ranges from fresh young wines to barrel-aged Chardonnay, the sparkling “Hyakuzi,” and even grappa and fruit liqueurs.
By overcoming harsh natural conditions and expressing the terroir of Tsuno, the winery continues to deliver wines from southern Japan that embody both challenge and creativity.
