About the Brewery
Tokyo Port Brewery, located in Shiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo, traces its roots back to the late Edo period when the sake brewery Wakamatsuya served as an official merchant of the Satsuma domain and hosted historic figures such as Mr. Takamori Saigo and Mr. Kaishu Katsu. After ceasing operations in the Meiji era, the brewery was revived in 2011 as Tokyo Port Brewery—the only sake brewery within Tokyo’s 23 wards. Operating as a rare urban microbrewery inside a reinforced concrete building of just 22 tsubo, it produces a variety of beverages including sake, liqueurs, doburoku, and umeshu. Its flagship label, Edo Kaijo, embodies the ever-changing spirit of Tokyo, crafted with meticulous small-batch brewing and a commitment to sustainability, offering a refined taste unique to the heart of the metropolis.
