About the Brewery
Tsunematsu Sake Brewery is a long-established brewery founded in 1917 (Taisho 6), located in Tsuruwa, Taragi-cho, Kuma-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture. The area around our brewery is rich in nature, where cranes often fly, and we take advantage of this blessed environment when making shochu. We are particular about using raw materials from Kuma, and our brewers begin making shochu by growing their own rice. In addition, we use clear Kuma natural water pumped from underground, and bottle it without filtration to preserve the flavor of the raw materials in the shochu. We are very particular about the process, including removing excess oil by hand during the cold mid-winter period and using a manufacturing method that does not use mechanical filtration. Shochu has been refined with tradition and a spirit of research, allowing you to fully enjoy its original flavor.
