About the Brewery


Oishi Sake Brewery was established in 1899 when founder Chojiro Oishi obtained a shochu manufacturing license. Located in Akune City, Kagoshima Prefecture, on a beautiful coastline overlooking the East China Sea, we continue to make shochu by taking advantage of the region's blessed climate and tradition. At the beginning of the company's founding, the brewery was a joint brewer, but just two years later they started producing independently, and the techniques have been passed down to five generations ever since.

Oishi Sake Brewery has been dedicated to producing shochu that is rooted in the local community for over 120 years, with the philosophy of ``adding new techniques to traditional techniques to create shochu that will last into the future.'' Using the local environment and carefully selected raw materials, we adhere to our commitment to ``carefully crafting'' our products with skilled craftsmanship. Although we are a small brewery that only produces 1,000 koku, we are loved by many drinkers for our passion for the quality of our shochu and our attention to detail.
