Chiran Jozo is a shochu brewery founded in 1919 (Taisho 8) in Chiran-cho, Minamikyushu City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Chiran Town, famous as the Little Kyoto of Satsuma, is an area with historical heritage sites such as the Chiran Samurai Residences and the Chiran Peace Hall, and is surrounded by beautiful nature and rich culture. We have continued to make shochu using locally grown fresh sweet potatoes in this area, which is home to specialty tea fields and sweet potato fields.

The current head of the family, who is the 4th generation to carry on the tradition, is based on the management philosophy of ``People and koji are gifts from nature, so we nurture and live with care.''He takes great care in cultivating koji and working hard to make shochu while sharpening his five senses.
