Katashimo Winery, founded in 1914, is the oldest winery in western Japan, having started brewing wine using Japanese sake production techniques. Risaburo Takai, the founder's father, cleared land in Katashita on the Osaka Plain and began cultivating grapes. The founder, Sakujiro Takai, succeeded in brewing wine by applying fermentation technology, and has been working on making high-quality wine ever since. Even today, we are cultivating without using herbicides, using reduced pesticides and organic fertilizers, and are developing original products such as ``Takoshan''. We have received high praise in domestic and international competitions, and have received awards such as the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's ``300 Small and Medium Enterprises and Small Businesses that Do Their Best'' and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award. As a company that works with the local community, we continue to protect the future of Osaka's vineyards through winery tours and events.
