About the Brewery

Geo Hills Winery is located on the Omakigahara Plateau in Komoro City, Nagano Prefecture, and offers special wines created by the climate and family ties. The winery name "Gio" means "wind" in Vietnamese, and the winery takes advantage of the cool climate and clay soil to grow high-quality grapes. The name expresses the hope that the wine grown on the ``hills where the wind blows'' will reach as many people as possible, riding on the wind.

We started growing Chardonnay in 2002, and have expanded to include Merlot and Pinot Noir. In 2018, our own winery was completed and we began brewing for the first time. Currently, we also produce sparkling wine and have a diverse lineup.

Representative Masaki Tomioka is also known as the owner of the local inn, Nakadanaso, and together with his family spreads the charm of the region to the world. GeoHills continues to evolve through efforts to cultivate grapes that respect the local climate and to promote exchanges with overseas countries, including Vietnam.
