Akiu

Akiu Winery is a winery rich in nature located in Akiu Onsen Village in Sendai City. The winery's vineyards are spread out on the southern slopes of a valley between mountains on the north and south, and the Natori River flowing nearby and the cool breeze that passes through the valley removes moisture during the intense heat and helps the fruit reach full ripeness while preserving its acidity. . This environment produces unique wines that reflect Akiu's terroir.

Twelve types of grapes are grown in the field, including Merlot, Pinotage, and Chardonnay. A tuff called ``Akiho stone'' contained in the soil gives it a mineral flavor. During brewing, we implement thorough hygiene management using high-temperature washing and ozonated water, as well as computer-controlled temperature control. With a focus on stainless steel tanks, fermentation tanks and bottling equipment, we produce a wide range of products from still wine to sparkling wine.
