About the Brewery
GRAPERE PUBLIC is a winery that makes wine that values not only the climate and soil of the land, but also the "terroir", which includes the people and culture. The fields and brewing facility in Nanyo City, Yamagata Prefecture, are in an ideal environment for grape cultivation, with large temperature differences and low humidity. Advocating ``Made of 100% Grapes,'' we only use grapes grown naturally in Nanyo City, and we use natural yeast without using pesticides, supplementary sugars, or supplementary acids. In 2017, we introduced Spanish-made earthenware pots called "amphoras" to make wine through natural fermentation. In addition, they started organic farming in 2015, focusing on Delaware, and also introduced Vitis vinifera varieties. We are currently expanding our wine production by purchasing grapes from local farmers. Based in Nanyo City, we aim to revitalize abandoned farmland and promote agritourism, and aim to form a wine-producing region in the region.
