About the Brewery
Maoi Distillery is located on the Maoi Hills in Naganuma Town, Hokkaido, and changed its name and brand from ``Maoi Jiyu no Oka Winery'' in 2022. Started in 2006 as the smallest winery in Japan, producing wine centered on wild grapes, we have cultivated 15 hectares of pastureland and pursued wine making that takes advantage of the region's unique terroir. Currently, we have installed a hybrid distiller manufactured by Forsyth in Scotland, and have begun producing brandy, fruit brandy, and whisky.
