About the Brewery

Raifuku Sake Brewery was founded in 1716 by Omi merchants at the foot of Mt. Tsukuba, a region blessed with high-quality water. The brand name ``Raifuku'', which has been around since the company's founding, comes from a haiku poem that goes, ``The pine tree of the gate of Ueto that smiles brings fortune'', and we strive to brew sake every day with the hope that good fortune will come to those who drink it. We are particular about the rice and yeast we use as raw materials, and while preserving tradition, we continue to take on new challenges and create unique sake.
Currently, we use about ten varieties of rice suitable for sake brewing and natural flower yeast, and we procure mainly local rice through contract cultivation. By milling the rice in-house and culturing our own yeast, we create products that bring out the characteristics of the rice to its fullest. It is also exported domestically and internationally, and has received high praise, including winning the top prize at a sake contest.
In 2016, they obtained a wine production license and are developing new products such as Raifuku wine "SUNRISE" and "SUNSET." We are passionate about sake brewing, fusing tradition and innovation.
