Mitake Shuzo
Shochu
About the Brewery
After acquiring and relocating Kurino Shuzo in 1958 (Showa 33), we began operations under the new name Mitake Shuzo. On Yakushima—an island designated a World Natural Heritage Site—benefiting from Kyushu’s highest peaks and the crystal-clear, abundant waters selected among Japan’s Top 100 Waters, the authentic sweet-potato shochu Mitake was born.
Wishing for the culture and industry of Yakushima to flourish, we will continue to create shochu chosen in every era.
