About the Brewery
Watanabe Vineyard & Winery, founded in 1884 in the Nasu area, is one of Japan’s historic wineries. Its classic label, designed by founder Kenji Watanabe, with its two distinctive stripes, has been handed down for over 120 years. While preserving rare old vines of Muscat Bailey A and Niagara, current winemaker Yoshinari Watanabe, trained in Bordeaux, has introduced Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon to pursue world-class winemaking. Blending tradition with innovation, Watanabe Vineyard & Winery produces wines that embody the terroir of Nasu and the passion of its family legacy.
