About the Brewery
Amami Oshima Sake Brewery was founded in 1970 and moved to its current location in Tatsugo Town in 1982 in search of better quality water. The representative brand ``Hamachidori'' was later renamed to ``Jougo'' and is loved by many drinkers. Since 2007, we have limited all the brown sugar we use for brewing to Amami Oshima, and by using fresh and flavorful brown sugar, we have succeeded in further improving the quality of our shochu.
Pursuing the soft sweetness and deep flavor that are characteristic of brown sugar shochu, we continue to make shochu using locally sourced ingredients. Our mission is to deliver shochu that is the pride of the region while respecting Amami's nature and culture.
