Shochu
About the Brewery
Yokogawa Distillery took over the business from its predecessor, Kogane Shuzo, in 2013 and moved its factory to Yokogawa-cho, Kirishima City. This brewery acquired a patent for ``Imo-koji'' in 2004, and their main product is ``Zenzen Imo Shochu,'' which uses sweet potatoes as the koji. This technological innovation opens up new possibilities for potato shochu.
Shochu produced using a unique manufacturing method is characterized by strong fermentation and a rich aroma, bringing out the unique characteristics of potato shochu. Yokogawa Distillery continues to innovate while preserving tradition, focusing on making shochu that fully expresses the charm of sweet potatoes.
