Shochu

About the Brewery

Izumi Sake Brewery was founded in 1950 as Chosa Brewing Co., Ltd., and was renamed Kirishima Yokogawa Sake Brewery in 2006, and the current Izumi Sake Brewery in 2011. In 2013, we set up a new head office and factory in Izumi City and began full-scale operations. We are a sake brewing company that strives to improve quality and pass on tradition through the production of shochu nurtured by Kagoshima's rich nature.

The company uses state-of-the-art production equipment, wooden barrel stills, and Shigaraki ware pots to create shochu while maintaining traditional manufacturing methods while incorporating modern technology. During the factory tour, you can experience the shochu manufacturing process up close, and you can also enjoy tastings at the sales corner.

Furthermore, the attached Soba Restaurant Gomanseki serves hand-made 100 percent soba noodles and dishes made with local ingredients, making it a popular spot where you can enjoy the local charm. We are a company that is dedicated to delivering deliciousness through shochu while contributing to the development of the region.
