About the Brewery

The history of Miyake Honten begins in 1856 when Seishichi Miyake founded it as Kawachi-ya. Initially, they produced mirin and shochu, and in 1902 they expanded into sake brewing. In 1916, "Senpuku" was born. The company's founder named it after his mother's and wife's names. Since then, Senpuku has become popular as a high-quality sake, and has become a purveyor to the Navy, and was even served on the battleship Yamato. In 1953, a new facility, ``Kurehozo,'' was completed, and in 1980, ``Fukupack'' was released. Since then, we have continued to provide products that meet the needs of the times. We are expanding our international activities beyond Japan, establishing a base in Shanghai in 2011, and expanding into the French market in 2014.
