Shochu

About the Brewery

Komaki Jozo was founded in 1909, when the first generation Mr. Isekichi Komaki set up a brewery in Satsuma Town, Kagoshima Prefecture, and began making shochu using the traditional turtle method. Sake brewing in a region rich in nature has a history of being passed down through generations, overcoming difficulties such as floods. Today, in addition to making shochu, they also hold events throughout the year in collaboration with the local community, such as the New Sake Festival, potato seedling planting, and potato digging. We are also running a ``19-year-old shochu project'' where young people take on the challenge of making shochu.
