About the Brewery
Satsuma Musou was created by members of the Kagoshima Sake Brewery Association to spread the word about shochu, a specialty of Kagoshima Prefecture. The name was chosen from a public call from within the prefecture, ``Satsuma Musou,'' meaning a unique existence in Satsuma. The brewers, who are rooted in the land of Satsuma, work every day to make shochu that will be loved for a long time. Pursuing the potential of shochu, a distilled alcoholic beverage, we aim to develop products that rival the world's famous distilled spirits such as whiskey and brandy, and continue to create shochu that combines tradition and innovation.
