About the Brewery
Hitomi Winery officially opened in 1991 as the second winery in Shiga Prefecture. The founder, Mr. Reizo Zushi, started his own farm and winery from scratch after changing his career from the apparel industry and focusing his passion on wine making. The winery specializes in ``cloudy wine'' that is not filtered at all, and all of the grapes used are domestically produced. We use grapes sourced from contract farms, including our own farms, to create pure, mature wines. Surrounded by beautiful nature in Higashiomi, Shiga Prefecture, we pursue wine making that reflects the rich climate of each season.
