About the Brewery
Lumiere is a historic winery founded in Yamanashi Prefecture in 1885. Adhering to the philosophy of ``Growing real grapes to make real wine,'' we continue to grow grapes with respect for nature and make high-quality wine. Through the introduction of European varieties and innovations in brewing techniques, they have produced wines that combine formality and style, and have led Japan's wine culture.
Lumiere, which has a harmonious balance of tradition and innovation, has received high praise both domestically and internationally, with features such as the Stone Storehouse Fermentation Tank, which is a registered tangible cultural property, and a history of use as a purveyor to the imperial family. The passion and commitment to quality that have been passed down since our founding is worthy of the name "light" and will continue to illuminate the future of Japanese wine.
