About the Brewery
Mars Wine began with Mars Yamanashi Winery, which Hombo Sake Brewery established in 1960 in Isawa-cho, Fuefuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Based on the philosophy that "good wine comes from good grapes," in 2000 they opened their own farm, Hosaka Hinojo Farm, in Hosaka Hills, Nirasaki City. We pursue high-quality wine making by taking advantage of Japan's climate.
We focus on cultivating grapes that reflect the terroir of each region, such as the Hosaka and Shirane districts of Yamanashi, and work with contracted farmers to produce unique wines. Additionally, in 2017, we opened Mars Hosaka Winery, aiming to further improve quality. It has received high praise as a world-class Japanese wine, including winning the gold medal at the Japan Wine Competition for four consecutive years.
