Shion Jōzō

Shion Jozo is a winery that produces wine in Makioka Town, Yamanashi Prefecture. In 1986, he started growing grapes in Makioka Town as part of Shion Gakuen Educational Corporation's nature education program, and in 2007 he opened a winery. It is also a base for nature education that makes Makioka Town feel like a "second home," and the idea is to spread the deliciousness of the Kyoho grapes grown here. It features a ``flower label'' that evokes the image of spending time with family and adds a single flower to the dining table. Dry wines are particularly popular, and have a reputation for being easy to drink, even among wine beginners.The wines that make use of the rich Kyoho grapes produced by Makioka Town's climate are loved because they go well with food. We also produce grape juice, which is popular among many people as Japanese wine.
