About the Brewery
Sanyo Jozo is a family-run winery located in Makioka-cho, Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture. It was established in 1933 by the founder, Mr. Yasohachi Yamada, and is currently managed by the fourth generation, Mr. Keiji Yamada. Since our founding, we have continued to produce "genuine Japanese wine" using grapes grown in Yamanashi on our own farm. The company name "Sanyang" comes from the Song Dynasty poet Su Dongpo's "Sanyang Prefecture," which embodies the company's desire to "enjoy delicious wine and live a prosperous life."
