About the Brewery
Iwasaki Jozo is a long-established winery located in the Iwai district of Katsunuma-cho, Yamanashi Prefecture, one of the birthplaces of Japanese wine. This area is the birthplace of Japan's unique grape variety, Koshu, which has a history of 1,000 years, and is a famous winemaking region where winemaking has continued for 150 years. Iwasaki Jozo was founded by 130 local farmers and continues to be supported by those bonds.
The brand ``Honjo Wine'' means ``authentic brewing'' and is characterized by winemaking based on the spirit of Zen. The abundant sunlight unique to the Iku area and the cool Sasago-oroshi blowing down from Mt. Fuji cultivate grapes that maintain their acidity and healthy fruit.
Based on the philosophy that "wine is a rainbow that connects nature and people, and people and people," Iwasaki Jozo values the harmony between nature and people and delivers wine that connects local traditions to the future.
