About the Brewery
Kelos is a winery named after NOM DE KELOS, which means "please drink" in the Yamagata dialect. In the vineyard, we say, ``Ogatte kero (grow big),'' and in the winemaking process, we pray, ``It becomes delicious, kero.'' We work on making wine. We aim to provide wines that drinkers can enjoy.
The winery, located in the Araya district, uses Muscat Bailey A and Campbell Early grown in terraced fields of old trees. We are pursuing new possibilities by creating hedged fields planted with European varieties on abandoned farmland. The building has a French design and includes a brewing room, shop, and seminar room. We create a place where you can learn and have fun together with wine that takes advantage of the local climate.
