About the Brewery
Otake Vineyard was founded around 1895, when the first president of the vineyard was impressed by the grapes he tasted in Osaka, ordered seedlings, and began cultivation. We were the first to establish a grape farm in the Tohoku region, and in 1898 we started producing wine with the advice of Prince Arisugawa Takehito. Since then, for over 120 years, we have continued to pursue quality while preserving the traditions rooted in the climate of Kitaaizu.
At Otake Vineyard, we carry out the entire process from cultivation to harvesting, preparation, and bottling, and only use fully ripe grapes. This creates a familiar and rich flavor. The wines are made using varieties such as Muscat Bailey A and San Semillon that suit the climate of Kitaaizu, and are characterized by a manufacturing method that minimizes additives.
"Kitaaizu wine" is not only for special occasions but also for everyday life, adding color to the home dining table and local culture.
