About the Brewery
Oura Winery produces wine in Akayu, Nanyo City, Yamagata Prefecture, based on an environment suitable for grape cultivation and long-standing techniques. Akayu is the birthplace of grapes in Yamagata Prefecture and is known for growing high-quality grapes. The company was founded in 1939 as the Oura Agricultural Processing Plant, which began manufacturing fruit wine and fruit juice, and is currently in its fourth generation working with local contract farmers to brew local wine using grapes from Yamagata. I'm here. Aiming for a taste that evokes the local landscape, we continue to make wine that is rooted in the region, despite limited production.
