About the Brewery
Asahicho Wine was founded on September 4, 1945, and initially established a wine factory under government orders for the purpose of extracting military supplies from tartaric acid. In 1952, the company began producing unblended port wine as a subcontractor for a major wine maker, and in 1971, began selling its own brand, ``Sunwine.'' In 1975, a new type of wine making began, and in 1978, ``Asahicho Wine'' was born. In 1990, the company name was changed to Asahicho Wine Co., Ltd., and in 1999, production of brandy began. Later, in 1999, the "Wine Castle" was completed, and it has become a popular tourist facility for many people. Currently, we use high-quality grapes to produce red wine brewed in French barrels, as well as fresh and fruity white and rosé wines. Asahi Town's rich natural environment and climate are the foundation for producing this delicious wine.
