About the Brewery
Konishi Sake Brewery began in 1550 when the Konishi family, who ran a medicinal business in Itami, turned to sake brewing around 1612. During the Edo period, the second generation Mr. Sotaku Konishi was impressed by the beauty of Mt. Fuji and named his sake ``Shirayuki'', making it the oldest existing brand in Japan.
