Kirinzan

Kirinzan Sake Brewery is a sake brewery located in Okuaga, Niigata, founded in 1843, and produces the tanrei dry sake that is representative of Niigata. Using 100% locally grown rice within a 10km radius of the brewery, we have realized a community-based sake brewing process that uses ultra-soft water from the Tokonami River. The brewers themselves grow rice in their own fields, and also collaborate with about 55 local farmers. Additionally, in order to protect the local natural environment, we have been planting more than 5,000 trees since 2010. We continue to challenge ourselves for the next 100 years, valuing traditional flavors and feelings for the region.
