In 2010, Ohmine Sake Brewery made a comeback after being dormant for over 50 years. We have restarted our business with a strong desire to create an industry that will lead to the future, centered on local agriculture and local resources. At that time, the sake industry was not doing well, and some people questioned why they chose sake. However, believing that sake brewing has the power to revitalize agricultural-based economic activity in areas with few core industries, we decided to take on a new challenge. Sake and agriculture have a long history and high technology. While respecting the culture and tradition, we incorporate modern technology and aim to create new sake that our predecessors could not achieve. We are passionate about creating sake that reflects the region's climate and identity, by researching and going beyond past recipes. We hope that Ohmine Sake Brewery's challenge will be a step towards contributing to the future of the region and passing on Japanese tradition and culture to the next generation.
