About the Brewery

Yaoshin Sake Brewery is a historic sake brewery founded in 1877, based in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Shinzaburo, a greengrocer who originally worked as a purveyor to the Iwakuni clan, became independent and started brewing sake under the brand name "Shingiku." In sake brewing, we have continued to inherit the rich local nature and the traditional techniques of our brewers, while also making innovations.

The brewery focuses on producing Junmaishu ``Gangi,'' and emphasizes bringing out the pure flavor of the rice to its fullest without using auxiliary ingredients or activated carbon filtration. The commitment to sake brewing has earned the support of many drinkers, and ``Gangi'' has received national recognition as the brewery's representative brand.

Yaoshin Sake Brewery trains its chief brewers in-house and practices sake brewing that combines traditional and modern techniques. We continue to pass on the culture of sake brewing, which has been cultivated in harmony with the local nature, to the future.
