Gassan Toraya Winery originated from Toraya Sake Brewery, which was founded in 1700, and became independent in 1922 with a sake brewery in Sagae. In 1972, they obtained a fruit wine production license and began producing cherry wine. In 1982, we produced Gassan Sanroku Toraya Wine, and in 1987 we released additive-free Gassan Sanroku Hoirige. In 2012, Representative Toshihiro Onuma and Factory Manager Naoko Oizumi were appointed to promote wine making using locally sourced ingredients. We have organized Hazuki-kai, a group of homestead and contract farmers, and are working to grow high-quality grapes. Taking advantage of the natural environment at the foot of Mt. Gassan, we cultivate grapes in each season and carefully produce wine.
