HIDA TAKAYAMA WINE APOTHECARY is a new winery that opened in July 2023 in Kuguno-cho, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture. We are attracting attention as the first winery in the Hida region and the first in Gifu Prefecture to cultivate and brew European grape varieties (Vitess Vinifera) in-house. Taking advantage of the cool climate at an altitude of 800 meters, we mainly cultivate white wine varieties. The brewing facility is located on a meadow overlooking Mt. Norikura, and there are plans to convert this land into a vineyard in the future. This is a family-run winery run by a husband who is a former railway researcher from Hokkaido and a wife who is a pharmacist from Hida Takayama. Hida Takayama has a long history of sake breweries and breweries, but in order to overcome the situation of not having a winery, we started grape cultivation by regenerating abandoned farmland. To deepen his knowledge of winemaking, he gained experience at wineries in Nagano and Toyama prefectures, and then realized his dream in Hida. Aiming for ``wine production rooted in the region,'' we offer wine packed with the natural blessings of the Hida region.
