Chateau Mercian is a winery representing Japan that has been challenging itself to make wine for over 140 years, with the aim of making Japan one of the world's best winemaking regions. Originating from the Dainippon Yamanashi Wine Company, which was founded in 1877, Japan's first wine production began. Since then, under the philosophy of ``the right variety for the right place,'' we have cultivated varieties such as Koshu, Merlot, and Chardonnay in various locations, creating wines that make the most of the local climate. Chateau Mercian is based in three facilities: Katsunuma Winery in Yamanashi Prefecture, Kikyogahara Winery in Nagano Prefecture, and Mariko Winery, and through experiential tours and tastings, we offer a wide variety of Japanese wines. Transmit your charm. In particular, Wanko Winery has been selected as the "World's Best Vineyard" for four consecutive years, and has been ranked 38th in the world and No. 1 in Asia. In addition, they have earned high praise both domestically and internationally through their innovative wine making, such as ``Koshu Kiiroka,'' which uses Koshu grapes. Chateau Mercian combines tradition and innovation to open up new possibilities for Japanese wine.
