Morizo Sake Brewery is a long-established shochu brewery founded in Tarumi City, Kagoshima Prefecture in 1885 (Meiji 18). The representative brand "Mori Izo" was released in 1988 (Showa 63), and its outstanding taste spread by word of mouth, quickly gaining nationwide recognition. In particular, in 1996, it was reported that French President Jacques Chirac was a regular drinker, establishing its status as a ``phantom shochu.'' At Mori Izo Sake Brewery, we have adopted the ``kametsubo preparation'' method since our founding, and carefully produce shochu in a wooden cellar where indigenous yeast lives. The brewery is particular about producing in small quantities, producing around 150,000 1-sho bottles each year. Its elegant and mild taste is achieved by using sweet potatoes grown with low pesticides by contracted farmers in Kagoshima Prefecture, and by making full use of traditional techniques. Furthermore, we focused on aging, and in 1999 we released ``Gokujo Morizo'' and in 2006 we released ``Rakusuikishu'', which was aged for over 10 years. These products continue to attract shochu fans. Morizo ​​Sake Brewery is spreading the name of ``premium shochu'' around the world by making shochu that combines tradition and innovation.
