Hombo Sake Brewery is a brewery that has been producing sake, mainly distilled spirits, for over 100 years since its founding. Founded in 1872 in Tsunuki, Kagoshima Prefecture (currently Kaseda Tsunuki, Minamisatsuma City), we will celebrate our 150th anniversary in 2022. We value our founding spirit of "rooting in the local area" and brew sake that takes advantage of the local climate. In addition to manufacturing and selling a variety of alcoholic beverage categories, including authentic shochu, whiskey, and wine, we are also working to achieve the SDGs by conserving mountains and forests in order to realize a sustainable society. Since obtaining a license to manufacture shochu in 1909, while maintaining traditional methods, the company has continued to innovate, including the introduction of German-made distillers in 1918 and the entry into whiskey production in 1949. Currently, we are producing sake at multiple locations in Kagoshima, Nagano, and Yamanashi, and leveraging our domestic and international sales network, we are expanding into markets in North America, Europe, and Asia. Based on the belief that "local has global value," we strive to maximize the appeal of local resources and pursue sake brewing that is highly regarded around the world. Products that combine the blessings of nature and technology, such as sweet potatoes from southern Kyushu, barley from Kyushu, and grapes grown in the terroir of Yamanashi, continue to receive high praise in competitions both domestically and internationally.
