Miyashita Sake Brewery began in 1909 (Meiji 42) when brothers Miyashita Kamezo and Motosaburo began brewing sake in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, upon the construction of Uno Port. The brothers lost their father when they were young and gained experience working for a relative in the sake brewing business. In 1967, the brewery was moved to the banks of the Asahi River, one of Okayama's three major rivers, and underground water from the Asahi River, pumped up from 100 meters underground, was used for brewing. The environment is in a blessed sake-producing area, such as Korakuen and the cold springs of Omachi. The main brand, ``Gokusei,'' has been brewed as a dry name sake since 1974, inheriting the name ``Hisashi'' from a waka poem written by the poet Otomo Tabi. Daiginjo ``Gokusei'' has received numerous gold awards at the National New Sake Awards and is highly acclaimed. Also, in 1995, the local beer "Doppo" was produced for the first time in the Chugoku region. Miyashita Sake Brewery also conducts a variety of research and development on local beer, and continues to create unique products that reflect the belief of "doping independently." In addition to sake and beer, we offer a wide range of products including shochu, liqueurs, and spirits, and as a comprehensive alcoholic beverage manufacturer, we are expanding sales and exports both within Japan and overseas.
