Ryoseki Sake Brewery, founded in 1874 (Meiji 7), is a long-established sake brewery located in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture. The main building and four built-in buildings were the first in Akita Prefecture to be designated as a nationally registered tangible cultural property, and are still in active use at the sake brewing site. The name ``Ryozeki'' was given in honor of Masamune, the famous sword of the East, and Munechika, the famous sword of the West, and with the wish to ``rule both East and West.'' Yuzawa City is known for its heavy snowfall, and its harsh yet beautiful nature has deeply influenced the sake brewing in Ryoseki. Thanks to the rich blessings of nature, the sake is packed with the unique flavors of this region. In the past, regular sake was the main product, but now the focus is on sake brewing that emphasizes quality, with a focus on special name sake. The brewers listen to the voices of the rice and sake and work together to carefully craft each drop.
