Yotsuya Sake Brewery was founded in 1919 by Kenhachi Yotsuya in Usa City, Oita Prefecture. We manufacture shochu in northern Kyushu, at the base of Usa Hachimangu Shrine, in a place rich in nature overlooking the Suonada Sea. While running a fish market, the founder was impressed by the taste of shochu he encountered in various places, and began brewing sake with the desire to make ``delicious shochu'' with his own hands. After that, the third generation died in battle, and his wife, Shigeko, continued to make shochu by herself. Impressed by this, Yoshifumi Yotsuya, the fourth generation owner, joined the brewery after graduating from high school, began full-scale production of barley shochu, and built the foundation we have today. In 1999, the fifth generation, Takeaki Yotsuya, returned to the family business, and in 2001, he took a new step forward as Yotsuya Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. With the motto of "Creation and Challenge," we strive to create shochu that pursues universal flavor and nostalgia while inheriting traditional techniques. The fourth and fifth generations have worked together to continue to uphold the ambitions of the company's founding.
