Saiya Sake Brewery is a sake brewery founded in 1902 by the first generation Mr. Yataro Saito. Since our founding, we have focused on cultivating our own yeast and polishing our rice, and our motto is producing high-quality sake. The company is constantly striving to provide high-quality sake, from Daiginjo to regular sake, at reasonable prices. There are 11 existing buildings on the site of the store, including houses, stores, and storehouses, many of which have been designated as nationally registered tangible cultural properties. In particular, the stores that incorporate Western-style designs and the large group of storehouses are attracting attention as valuable buildings that symbolize the development of local industry. The Ishiwaki district of Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture, where the sake brewery is located, once flourished as a logistics base for the Kameda clan. Historically, rice and wood were transported down the Koyoshi River from Ishiwaki Port to various locations on Kitamaebune ships. Today, the town still has a historical atmosphere and stores selling specialty products, and in mid-January, the ``Naked Visit to Niiyama Shrine'' is held, and the area is crowded with many people. While inheriting the history and traditions of the region, Saiya Sake Brewery conveys its charm through sake brewing.
