Founded in 1944, Hokushika has continued to refine its techniques for producing and passing on the best sake. The taste of Japanese sake varies depending on the taste of the drinker, and it strongly reflects regional characteristics. Each region has its own characteristics in terms of climate, water, rice, and inherited manufacturing processes. Hokushika values ​​sake that is rooted in the region, strives to build its own network and improve its technology, and contributes to the local community with a spirit of challenge. In 1945, 8 factories from 21 companies in Kitaakita and Kazuno counties jointly started business as a result of the government's corporate reforms. Since 1971, we have been centralizing production in Odate City, and in 1986 we joined the ``Sekai Takakoyamaya Group'' with the aim of ``brewing sake that pleases our customers.'' The brand name ``Hoku-deka'' is an acronym for Kitaakita-gun and Kazuno-gun, both located in northern Akita Prefecture, and symbolizes the desire to emulate the wild deer of the north.
