Based in Niijuku, Takahata-cho, Higashiokitama-gun, Yamagata Prefecture, ``Yonetsuru'' contributes to the richness of food culture through the development, manufacture, and sale of sake, shochu, and related products. The name of the brand comes from a local folk tale, ``The Crane's Return,'' and symbolizes the appearance of ears of rice and cranes, expressing gratitude. "Kome" means eighty-eight, and is also known as an auspicious name representing "eighty-eight cranes." Yonetsuru has a tradition that has continued since the Genroku period, and has carved out a history as a sake brewery for the Yonezawa-Uesugi domain. With the passion inherited from our first generation, we continue to challenge the transformation of sake brewing, and even today we pursue "good sake" and further refine our techniques.
