Azuma no Fumoto Sake Brewery was founded in 1896 (Meiji 29) near the Ise Kumano Taisha Shrine in Tohoku, and has strived to produce ``sake that satisfies the souls of its drinkers.'' We are particular about using local rice and water, and place importance on passing on the techniques of Ginjo brewing to the next generation. With the desire to make Japanese sake more familiar to young people, we developed a new brand called ``Tenkyu'' in collaboration with students from Tohoku University of Art and Design. The Okitama Basin is characterized by clear water and harsh winters, making it the perfect environment for sake brewing. During the Edo period, we inherited the sake brewing department of Riemon Sakataya, a local merchant who had the privilege of being part of the Yonezawa domain, and since then we have strived to improve sake brewing techniques while preserving tradition. We pursue quality-oriented sake brewing so that our sake ``Higashi no Fumoto'' continues to be loved by many people.
